The titleThis suite is composed of three movements: the initial "Prelude" is proud and decisive, almost martial. This contrasts with the romantic and nostalgic "Intermezzo", where the main theme is initially interpreted by solo clarinets and then by the whole band. A joyous, energetic "Finale", where the brasses rise above everyone else, brings the piece to a magnificent close.
