The titleThis piece is divided into two contrasting parts, joined by the same main theme. In the initial andante, after a short introduction, the melancholic sounds of the alto sax come to the fore, reappearing in a completely different context, in the next movement, played by the C piccolo. The final allegro is characterized by a joyful and driving sound, sustained by a constant percussive accompaniment, constituting a context within which new melodic and harmonic inventions are introduced by the rest of the band.
